The nonpartisan, nonaffiliated economists who make up The Squam Lake Working Group on Financial Regulation have put together a series of excellent short papers offering guidance on the reform of financial regulation. On the important issue of ending government bailouts of financial firms believed to be "too big to fail," see "Improving Resolution Options for Systemically Relevant Financial Institutions" as well as "Reforming Capital Requirements for Financial Institutions." Gene Fama and Ken French have sharp, direct, and brief comments on "too big to fail" at the Fama/French Forum. (October 2009)

A special issue of the University of Chicago GSB Magazine devoted to David Booth, founder and CEO of Dimensional, in honor of his historic gift to the University and the naming of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
